The latest set of posters for Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows ( part 2 ) sets an effectively sombre and dramatic tone for the final installment of the series. ( check out the trailer below ) Both part I and II were photographed by the DOP Eduardo Serra, who also shot one of my favourite films “The Girl With the Pearl Earring”.

My only regret is that Industrial Light and Magic was unable to partake in the visual effects creation for the finale. ( ILM has contributed to all of the films right up to Half-Blood Prince ) Still, kudos goes to the brilliant folks at Double Negative, who have done a stellar job in creating the many visually spellbinding creature/effects shots throughout the series. I can’t wait to see what they’ve conjured up for the climatic showdown in the battle of Hogwarts.
