The Art And Making Of Finch

Finch is one of the more memorable and enjoyable films I’ve seen this year, not only because of it’s engaging and thought provoking narrative but also the excellent visual effects, design and art direction. The film has a page on ArtStation and showcases a huge collection of look-development and concept art work by art director David Levy and his group of amazing concept artists.

I’ve posted a few pieces below –

Head on down to the ArtStation page to see a whole lot more of these concept art pieces.

Also, the most excellent Befores And Afters VFX coverage website by Ian Failes also has an article on the making of the film, talking to visual effects supervisor Scott Stokdyk about the extensive use of Legacy Effect’s animatronic and displacement suit. Definitely head on down for a good read. Here’s a few images from the article courtesy of Befores And Afters –

I’m hoping there will be an art/making of book release that will collect all the fantastic concept art as seen on the ArtStation page in physical book form, and I’m definitely picking up the blu-ray or 4K UHD of the film when it’s released.
