Things From The Flood is the 2nd art book by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag and follows the narrative of his first book Tales From The Loop, where dark waters seeping out from the now decommissioned Loop inundates the Swedish town of Mälaröarna.
Set in the 90s, Stålenhag once again taps into memories of his childhood to illustrate mundane Nordic landscapes populated by strange technology, robots and creatures, each a cinematic frame of art that sets your imagination abound.
Many of the illustrations are also accompanied by several paragraphs of narrative text that provides additional information, all of which are penned by the artist.
A fascinating sci-fi tale told with incredible images, just as good as Tales From The Loop. Highly recommended.
I want to thank Teena from Design Studio Press for providing me with a copy of the book for review.
