Chris Bachalo is a Canadian comic book illustrator known for his quirky, cartoon-like style. He has illustrated several of Marvel Comics’ X-Men-related series, including Generation X (which he co-created), X-Men Vol. 2, Uncanny X-Men, and Ultimate X-Men.

I don’t know Chris Bachalo’s work well at all, but I’ve an amazing artist friend of mine Gary Choo ( who illustrates beautiful Marvel comic covers ) who is a fan and I trust his taste, so I picked up this book to check it out when I was browsing around for art books to review on Amazon.

Chris Bachalo’s illustration and drawing skills are certainly top notch, and although I’m not usually a fan of for lack of a better word the “Generic Marvel style” there’s quite a few pieces in this book that I do like. All that said, this is an excellent and low-priced book to get introduced to his work, and comes recommended.
