I’ve seen Hieu Nguyen’s ( Kelogsloop ) art work pop up on my twitter stream from time to time because I’m a follower, but during my recent Tokyo trip I had a chance to browse a physical copy of this book at Kinokuniya Shinjuku and get a much more close-up look at his work. As I flipped through the pages I was more and more impressed by his artistry; the appeal of Kelogsloop’s work ( besides his obvious technical excellence and mastery of the watercolor medium ) is in his splendid color sense and keen eye for aesthetically pleasing compositions.

This beautiful hardcover volume is the artist’s first art book, a wonderful showcase of his luscious illustrations spread across 152 pages, complimented by the artist’s writings as he takes us through his art journey as well as some tutorials on watercolor techniques.

Really stunning looking watercolor illustrations by Kelogsloops. If I had the wall space in my apartment to spare I would be tempted to blow up some of my favorite pieces from this book and frame them up nicely. Recommended.
