Please Come To Our Neighbourhood ( ぼくらのまちにおいでよ / Bokura no machi ni oide yo ) is a children’s picture book by Japanese animator/illustrator Omomo Yosuke ( 大桃洋祐 ). I was first introduced to the artist’s beautiful illustration/animation work after seeing this absolutely delightful gif ( titled Snow and hot chocolate ) on my twitter feed a while back –

A native of Chiba, Japan, Omomo-san studied at Tokyo University of the Arts and have been working as a freelance artist ever since his graduation. This is his first publication.

Omomo’s art work exudes a child-like simplicity and wonder, and I especially love his harmonious use of colors. I genuinely feel happy and at peace when I look at his illustrations, and I look forward to seeing more of his work in the future. This delightful hardcover picture book comes recommended.
