Maurice Sendak – A Celebration Of The Artist And His Work is a huge art book dedicated to the art of the American illustrator/writer, most renowned for his children’s book Where The Wild Things Are.
More than 200 color illustrations spanning over 60 years of the artist’s career are collected in this book, a catalog of the works which were on display at the Society of Illustrators in New York City from June 11–August 17, 2013. Also included are 12 essays penned by such noted scholars and historians as Leonard S. Marcus, Iona Opie, Steven Heller, and Paul O. Zelinsky.
The book is of excellent quality and the reproductions are crisp and clean, making reading a great enjoyment. I know relatively little about Maurice Sendak’s work outside of Where The Wild Things are and this is a perfect opportunity for me to discover his other illustrations. Recommended.

super charming illustrations. i like his use of colors and tones. a lot of bleached-out light colors. like you i know very little of his work outside “Where The Wild Things Are” (as thats a childhood classic of mine), but its nice to see his other work.
