Kumaori Jun ( Junkuma ) is a prolific Japanese illustrator with a wide portfolio of work covering books, short novels, magazines and more. Her artistic style and use of colors bear the influence of Impressionist painters like Monet, Seurat and Klimt.
Recently she also contributed to the opening sequence of the anime Atom The Beginning, acting as art director/color script supervisor.
This is her first art book featuring a huge collection of her professional and personal works, with almost 200 pages of illustrations. Also included are some of her painting and illustration techniques.
Just like two other Japanese illustrators I adore ( Junaida & Yoko Tanji ), Kumaori Jun’s soothing color palette and dreamy images really draw me into her creations. This book is an excellent volume to enjoy all her beautiful illustrations and comes highly recommended.

ATOM – Yes, I do love Naohisa Inoue’s art too, it does seem he is influenced by Impressionism too.
