Stanley “Artgerm” Lau is a Singapore based illustrator known for his variant covers on Catwoman, Supergirl and Mera: Queen of Atlantis. This oversized art book collects 20 of his most stunning pieces starring some of the greatest superheroes and super-villains in comics history; featuring favorites from Wonder Woman to Supergirl and Harley Quinn.
The reproductions of his art work are huge and beautifully printed, and the binding allows for the pages to detached fairly easily from the book to be displayed as pin-ups.
Back in the day when we were still teenagers Stanley Lau and I attended the same design/animation school ( Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore ), and even then our lecturers always had high praise for his work and envisioned him becoming an amazing artist. I guess they were right.
This gorgeous art book showcases the very best of his DC comics illustrations and comes highly recommended.

I love his art and this book is so overdue. I wish he’d publish an actual artbook one of these days, but until then this is definitely the closest thing to that. The size of this is so massive it probably won’t fit on most people bookshelves, it’s the same size as his regular prints I think (which imo tend to be overpriced, but beautiful). Fantastic artist.

Stanley Lau has definitely progressed as an artist having followed his early works until now. However, as a good as his art is, it’s not very innovative. Most of his art revolves around a bust shot (no pun intended) of pretty females or from the waist up. They are usually in the various poses thaf we’ve seen him do. Having only ever done cover artwork, I feel he will never command the respect and superstar status of actual comic book artists as he has never drawn any sequential art. Also, having met him at conventions a few times, he feels very cold towards his fans and I don’t like how he gloats on social media about sketching a bust that took him 20 minutes and then charging $700 USD or more on his site or commissions.
Sorry for the rant and this is solely my opinion and experience, but I feel he is highly overrated and not her different from other artists. At least this posterbook is cheap.
