In anticipation for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Samura Hiroaki’s Blade Of The Immortal film directed by Takashi Miike, the manga’s publisher Kodansha has re-issued new editions of the manga, with brand new cover art by Samura Hiroaki. Check out the covers for the first three volumes below :
No doubt this move is to reinvigorate the readership for the manga, the original run which spanned 2 decades from 1993 to 2012. I also previously showcased a selection of the original cover art in this post.
With many of my volumes old and fox-eared from years of reading, maybe it is a good time to recollect the entire manga again…*strokes chin*
More covers ( front only ) can be seen on Amazon Japan.

I’ve been postponing Blade Of The Immortal for years but I feel as though this is the final push needed to convince me to start reading it immediately!
On a sidenote, the older covers you showcased in your other posts were more to my liking but these are still very nice to look at.
I hope the live adaptation will be satisfying (especially since the already disappointing Ghost in the Shell Hollywood adaptation is coming up)
