One of the most influential artist/director working in the anime industry today, Mitsuo Iso has animated some astounding sequences, including the Asuka VS MPE fight scene in the End Of Evangelion and also highly acclaimed Denno Coil series.
This art book features a collection of his genga (keyframe drawings) and layouts from some of his earlier films including MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM 0080 War in the Pocket and VOOGIE’S ANGEL.
(above right) A sample of the animation time-sheet commonly used by 2D animators to mark down the timing of their drawings as well as the frame rates ( animated on 2s, 3s, etc ). I remember using it back in the day as an animation student.
A good collection of keyframe drawings and layouts from Mitsuo Iso’s early days work. For folks who are more keen on his later works, I recommend the Groundwork Of Evangelion books, as well as the visual book for Denno Coil.
