Mary And The Witch’s Flower (メアリと魔女の花) is an upcoming animated film by former Ghibli director Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who bought us Arrietty and When Marnie Was There. The story is an adaptation of Mary Steward’s novel “The Little Broomstick”, which like Kiki’s Delivery Service revolves around the adventures of witches. Check out the teaser below :
Production of the film will be handled by Studio Ponoc, a relatively new animation studio founded in 2015 by some former Ghibli members. This is certainly good news given the production hiatus of Ghibli Studio ( Miyazaki-san himself is still working on new stuff though ).

I first came across Ponoc’s work walking along a construction area near Shibuya Crossing. It was a massive illustration, and was really lovely. Great to see they have a feature film set for release!!!!
