The Groundwork Of Evangelion 3.0 (Volume 2) is a big collection of genga (key animation drawings) and select layout boards from the third Rebuild Of Evangelion animated films. This art book covers content from the 2nd half of the film, with over 380 pages of drawings. ( read the review for volume 1 here. )

By comparison volume 2 features a bigger percentage of layout boards vs genga drawings than volume 1; the book is also about 60 pages thicker.

The layout boards are incredibly detailed and stand on their own as beautiful pieces of illustration even without any animation.

(above & below) Genga ( keyframe drawings ) of Asuka as she pilots her EVA unit. Although confined to a very small space within her cockpit, the animators are talented and creative enough to breath life into her movement, making her actions fluidly dynamic, precise, and always packed with explosive purpose.

Tons of beautiful layout and genga drawings from one of the most astonishing anime films of late, and well worth the price of the book. My highest recommendations.
