Animation studio / visual effects house Sony Imageworks has just released this sizzle reel showcasing some of their latest animation and vfx work for fall 2024. Check it out below –
Sony Imageworks is also where I’ve been working for a good decade now, after relocating from Singapore to Vancouver back in 2015 after I departed ILM ( Industrial Light And Magic ) Singapore, which has sadly closed down back in December 2023. During my time with Sony I have had the unique opportunity to work on visual effects for both animated as well as live-action films, including 2 Spider-Man live-action films as well as 2 Spider-Verse animated films, among many other movies. It’s a whole lot of fun and really fulfilling to get to work on movies, but more importantly I get to work with some of the most talented artists in the industry and have made many good friends. Here’s to many many more years in the industry !

Congratulations for you, and your colleagues, for all of your great work! Good animation and visual effects is the result of hard work from humans, contrary to what the sci-fi musings from delusional executives would have you believe. Suits be damned, y’all are artists and what you do matters!

You’ve worked on some really cool projects! I’m sure like all jobs, yours has its stresses and complications, but being able to look back on a finished creative work each time must be immensely satisfying.
