Luca is upcoming Pixar animated film directed by the super talented Enrico Casarosa, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his 2012 animated short film La Luna. The look of the film is absolutely gorgeous; I love vivid and vibrant colors, the character designs and animation style, which seems to pay homage to the Wallace & Gromit stop-motion animation films. I got to know Enrico back in 2008 when I was still working in Japan, having seen his amazing Sketchcrawl art project, and we sent each other a couple of art books. Enrico is an an amazing illustrator, and I highly recommend checking out his charming illustrated travelogue The Venice Chronicles ( pictured below ).

Luca will be out in June 2021, and I can’t wait to see it !
