I regret selling off my copy of this book when I was still in Japan; it’s now out of print and the only way you can get it is through Amazon Japan’s Marketplace sellers.
Running at 224 pages, the book contains a substantial collection of genga ( key animation ) from Production I.G’s fantastic Ghost In The Shell Standalone Complex series. It’s a very high quality production and I like it immensely.
There is also a Ghost In The Shell : SAC Solid State Society art book available – read the review here.
“GITS Standalone Complex Genga Collection” art book details :
Dimensions – 29.4 x 21.2 x 2 cm
Soft cover, 216 pages
Mostly in B&W, in Japanese

Having both of those books, it’s more educational than Gainax’s “Groundwork” series. I like the fact that it tells which animator worked on those drawings and explanation of key animation process and terminology.
I wish it had more pages though.
I understand that you’ve worked with Japanese production, but English equivalent of “Genga” is called “key animation”, not “original cellings”.

Henry – “original cellings” make no sense even outside the context of anime, I must have been half asleep when I wrote that. Thanks for the heads-up. :]
