Apologies for the lack of updates – as usual work is murder as we toil on the final episode of Freedom.
Nissin Cup Noodles’ 10th and final Freedom commercial went on air on the 1st of March, but we actually wrapped up production for this way back in late December. I guess the advertising company wanted to release this a little closer to Freedom 7’s dvd launch, but even that’s a full 3 months away.
The commercial is more or less a digest of what happens at the end of Freedom 7, but for those who haven’t been following the series or watched Freedom 7 it might not make too much sense.

While the bulk of Freedom 7’s work still lie ahead in the next 2 months or so there is an unmistakable feel of transition in the studio – with the end of the series come change for all members of Freedom committee.
To me these are exciting times; where the immediate future is uncertain and new opportunities lie ahead, waiting to be discovered.

What?! Beginning of the end… Or you mean in Japan perhaps. It’d be rather sudden to move to another field of work suddenly.
i must say though…some of the screens really look cel-like now..
perhaps the technology for making anime-looking anims with 3d has arrived at last?

tragic comedy – My director would be happy to hear that. I’m sure there’s always a place for both hand drawn animation and CG cell shading, the most important thing I guess is that they both continue to deliver great animation work for us to enjoy ! :]
