It feels like renowned manga artist Taiyo Matsumoto ( Tekkon Kinkreet, PingPong ) has taken a leaf out of Otomo’s book and recently released a gorgeous looking manga boxset collecting 8 of his comic titles. The included manga titles are –
– Tekkon Kinkreet
– PingPong
– Zero
– A Boy Meet a Papa and Baseball
– GoGo Monster
– Blue Spring
– No.5
– Takemitsuzamurai
The 8 manga are spread across 19 volumes and housed in a beautifully designed white cardboard. Included with the boxset also are a illustrated greeting card by Taiyo Matsumoto as well as the original art covers used for each manga’s first tankobon edition ( see images below courtesy of prtimes).
The boxset is priced at 17600 yen ( about $140 USD ) and is a great opportunity to collect some of Taiyo’s most acclaimed comic works. I’ll likely be picking this up so look out for my full review of the set probably some time soon.

This looks like quite a handsome set. Too bad it will unlikely be released in English.

Coffee – Unfortunately so ! As with most titles the publishers considering only the domestic market, but fingers crossed an English publisher might pick it up !
