Taschen delivers yet another stunning art book, a huge hard cover tome that details the Impressionist Painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s stunning body of work, with over 600 full color reproductions of his paintings. This is the most comprehensive retrospective of his work yet published.

I’ve personally seen a good collection of his paintings in exhibitions around the world but most of the art work featured are new to me; likely because many of them are in private collections. The reproductions found in this book are crisp, with vibrant colors and also accentuated by the big print size; a feast for the eyes.

This huge hardcover volume features a spectacular collection of Renoir’s beautiful paintings, with over 400 pages of art work at a very low and attractive price. Whether for scholarly use in art studies or just for the sheer pleasure of admiring the painter’s gorgeous work, one cannot go wrong with this book. My highest recommendations.
