Ghost In The Shell SAC Solid State Society Art Book Review

Posted By yonghow on June 6th, 2011

A spin-off anime series from Mamoru Oshii’s highly acclaimed “Ghost in the Shell” film, SAC ( Stand alone Complex ) continues the missions of Section 9’s agents as they face off with a master hacker nicknamed “The Laughing Man”. The series features a tense and highly engaging plot peppered with great action sequences, and the quality of animation is consistently high. Kudos to Production I.G for the amazing work.

(above left) Major Motoko Kusanagi, as sexy as she is lethal – this deadly combination has made her one of the most recognizable female anime characters.

( above and below ) Ghost In The Shell won’t be complete without some serious mecha action, and in the series the Tachikomas get plenty of screen time.

There’s plenty of character and mecha design sheets to pore through, a great source of reference material.

Some amazing artwork! I’ll surely buy it someday, it’s a must.
And even the machine concepts, that’s quite nice :0

Mr. Yonghow, can you recommend any other artbook of painting, apart from Makoto Shikai artbooks?

Gits Freak

I need scans BADLY! I can’t find any on the net, are there scans of this SSS book anywhere online? I’d love to get my hands on that shot of Azuma in the 4th pic.

Of course, I’d love for it to be translated in English too, but you can’t win em all.
