Screen caps from the 8th Freedom Nissin Cup Noodles Commercial, which started airing on Japan TV from the 5th of November. The theme song is once again “Kiss & Cry” by Utada Hikaru.

There’s quite a bit of dialogue this time, so I did a rough translation of the conversation for those who might want to know what’s actually going on in the commercial :
アオ：「あれは EDEN ?」
Ao : Is that EDEN ?
タケル : 「ああ」
Takeru : Yes.
ビス：「油断するなよ！」
Bisu (via a comms monitor to Takeru) : Be on your guard ! (Don’t be careless !)
アオ：「タケル！何が来た！」
Ao : Takeru ! Something’s coming !
タケル：「EDEN管理局だ」
Takeru : It’s EDEN’s Gestapo unit !
ロボ：「タケルBD448３M。他１名情報なし。」
Through the computer sight of a Crab Robo : ‘Takeru ID No. BD4483M, 2nd person’s ID unknown (Ao)”
タケル：「カズマ！！」
Takeru : Kazuma !!
カズマ：「EDEN法２６条により拘束する」
Kazuma : I am detaining you under section 26 of EDEN’s law.
タケル：「おい！カズマーっ！！」
Takeru : What ?! Kazumaa !!
カズマ：「連行しろ。。。」
Kazuma : Take them away.
ビス：「タケル。。。」
Bisu ( from earth ) : Takeru…
タケル：「地球を見捨てんのか！！」
Takeru : How can you abandon Earth ?!
カズマ：「俺はEDENの 秩序を守っている」
Kazuma : I am but protecting EDEN’s stability and order…
Production work on this one was quite a pain in the ass with tons of reflection and floodlight passes, not to mention the Crab Robos which is always too polygonally heavy to work with comfortably. All 2 weeks of work for a mere 30 seconds, but I’m sure Kazuma fans must be thrilled – he looks super cool.
This installment is really setting the pace of the rest of the series as action heats up in Freedom – I am really looking forward to Takeru and Kazuma’s inevitable confrontation. I guess Otomo fans must have seen this coming a mile away, but that won’t take away the excitement I’m sure. We are going to toil extra hard for the next few months working on the upcoming commercials and Freedom 6 and…
