I’ve been cutting down on movie “art of” books these days ( there are just too many out there !) but I wanted to get this one because I worked really hard on the film.
The book is packed full of great concept art, covering everything from the primary characters, set, mecha and weapon designs, posters, marketing materials and more; content wise its pretty comprehensive.
(above) A three page foldout illustration of the Avengers by Ryan Meinerding and Charlie Wen. A blown-up version of this will look great on the wall.
(above) The “car wash” scene on top of Stark Tower still blows my mind every time I see it, executed by our esteemed colleagues in ILM SF. I had to study the inner workings/power down sequence of the Arc Reactor chest piece for a couple of shots I was working on and the complexity of the set-up is just astonishing.
(above) The hard cover book comes with a very sturdy cardboard case.
Those who enjoyed the film and want to delve deeper into the art and making of the movie will find a lot to like . Highly recommended.

Wow! That’s great! Congratulations on your work on The Avengers! I actually picked this book up on the first day! I really enjoyed the movie and the designs behind it! You and all the artists that did all the conceptual work did such an incredible job! It shows on screen!
I don’t speak just as an admirer or artists, but as someone who also originated from an illustration background, I love seeing all the artwork from artists in the industry. Something I feel is overlooked by the big spectacle of audiences and only the small demographic of us who are aware of. I salute you on the hard work that you and your colleagues put into it!
