Upgrading to Wordpress 2.5…please hold.

I’ve been all jittery about upgrading my blog to Wordpress 2.5 for morbid fear that the skies might come crashing down, ending the world in a spectacular, incandescent flash ( mostly because of the thousand and one tweaks I’ve done with the coding, none of which I remember how to reproduce ) but I seem to have escaped relatively unscathed.

Most links and functions should be working fine; please do drop me a comment if you spot anything faulty.

Blog transfer in progress.

Hey folks. I am currently in the process of porting Halcyon Realms from Blogger to my new Wordpress server. As you may have noticed Halcyon Realms now sits comfortably on the domain of the same name so I hope things feel more integrated.

Besides a change in the blog layout design I have taken the opportunity to implement some new features like the top navigation toolbar for easier access to archives and other information. I’m still optimizing navigation and adding stuff but most of the links should be in place. Please drop me a comment and let me know what you think about the new look and design.

ps: My old blog hosted at Blogger will remain intact for redirecting purposes but all new posts will be made here.

I can’t believe a trivial attempt to fix my broken blog archives ever since my migration to the new Blogger template left them in net limbo could escalate into a full fledged, multi-tasking mission to overhaul my blog, but there you are. New are the easy on the eyes Trebuchet MS typeset and a cleaner template, I’ve kept the page at 800 pixels so folks on 800×600 res can still browse comfortably. Dewa.

They always say if something’s not broken, don’t fix it, but heck, I really felt like a change. (picture for blog header). To usher in the new year, a breath of fresh air, the works. I just hope it still runs in parallel to the “halcyon realms” theme. Tell me what you guys think. Shot on a beautiful evening near the train tracks near my house.

Having hogged my brother’s Notionwerks website for years now I’ve finally gotten my bones together to set up my own domain. After much deliberation I’ve finally settled on www.playwithlight.com. ( tying into the cinematography, chiaroscuro thing ) One has to realize that with the word “light” within the name its only too easy to end up sacrosant sounding ie “stepintolight.com”, nor did I wanted something too corporate, not running a business here. Right now its all but an empty shell, but go to www.playwithlight.com for a peek.
