Watchmen - The Art Of The Film Book

Watchmen – The Art Of The Film covers the making of the motion picture adapted from the critically acclaimed comic book written by Alan Moore and art by Dave Gibbons. The book has a good mixture of concept art, storyboards, production stills and is light on text – it is more of a coffee table book rather than an in depth “making of” book, like the one for Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy.

I enjoyed the film – perhaps my zero knowledge of the original comic allowed me to watch the movie without any prejudice, and I was particularly enamored by cinematographer Larry Fong’s “punchy” visuals.  He also photographed 300, Super 8 and Sucker Punch.

I thought the costume designer (Michael Wilkinson) who created Silk Spectre II’s outfit did an amazing job – the costume is an epitome of sexiness and yet retain a high level of athletic grace.
