Doom Eternal is the sequel to the 2016 reboot of Bethesda/id Software’s original Doom (1993), one of the pioneering first-person shooter video games. I’ve been playing the game on my PS4 for a few weeks now and I’m really enjoying it !

This official art book for the game features a huge collection of concept art/digital sculpts for the many demons and creatures which players of the original game will recognize, including the Imp, Cacodemon, Hell Knight, Mancubus, Revenant and quite a few more demons that are entirely new to the franchise, like the dreadful Marauder.

Because of the inter-dimensional and sci-fi elements of the game narrative ( Space Doom, if you will ), many of the demons have cybernetic enhancements that set them visually apart from the original designs. Also included in the book are environment/set designs, and of course weapons designs, with a few new additions to the familiar ones like the double-barrel shotgun and BFG, although they too get a visual overhaul.

The huge menagerie of demons is certainly one of the bigger highlights of the game for me, although the stage and set designs are equally impressive. This art book showcases them all and is a great way to explore the amazing visual designs created by the art team. Recommended; I also suggest checking out the art book for the 2016 prequel game.
