N.C ( Newell Convers, 1882-1945 ) Wyeth was an American artist and illustrator, and the father of Andrew Wyeth, yet another great American artist, renowned for his painting Christina’s World.

A prolific artist during his time, N.C. Wyeth created more than 3,000 illustrations over the course of his career. His versatile style saw him exploring many different subject matter, from Arthurian Legend to Robin Hood and Robinson Crusoe, as well as Impressionist views of the Pennsylvania countryside and 1930s modernist interpretations of Maine coastal scenes.

This 2019 publication showcases reproductions of his art that are markedly of higher quality that an earlier art book I reviewed – N.C. Wyeth – Great Illustrations, with much more vibrant colors, sharpness of detail and clarity.

N.C. Wyeth is an extraordinary artist whose highly versatile style and wide gamut of themes continue to astound me, and I’m still actively exploring his portfolio today. This art book is an excellent way to enjoy his amazing art and comes highly recommended.
