Godzilla vs. Kong is the 4th film in the Monsterverse franchise of films after Godzilla, Kong : Skull Island and Godzilla – King Of The Monsters. Eschewing any human elements in whatever narrative was necessary to set up the final smack-down between the two Kaiju titans, the film delivered a satisfying and spectacle filled third act as Godzilla and Kong tagteamed to take down Mecha-Godzilla.

This huge 162 paged, sturdy hardcover art book explores a good collection of concept art and sketches created during the making of the film, with a sizeable chunk of the contents dedicated to the Hollow Earth segment of the movie, in particular the designs for the numerous creatures and kaiju that Kong encounters and fights. The section on Mecha-Godzilla also has substantial coverage and showcases the various different designs and iterations that the concept artists explored before settling on the final look.

The filmmakers behind Godzilla vs. Kong knew exactly what kind of movie they were setting out to make and did a fantastic job in delivering the very well executed monster fight spectacles; a lot of credit goes to the visual effects artists. Fans of the Monsterverse franchise will find plenty to like in this art book, serving up a great collection of concept art for all the monsters seen in the film; from the giant critters dwelling within Hollow Earth to Mecha-Godzilla.
