Departure Of Sayo And Kou Picture Book Review サヨとコウの出発 窪之内英策

The Departure Of Sayo And Kou is a short picture/illustration book by Japanese artist Eisaku Kubonouchi. His art work gained a lot of traction in the past few years with some high profile projects, including a couple of Nissin Cup Noodle TV commercials featuring his character designs.

The art work of Sayo And Kou are actually based on anime characters ( also designed by Eisaku ) that was used to advertise a Japanese train transfer app called Ekisupaato. The story is centered around the popular Seishun ( youthfulness ) theme and explores the friendship/romance of the 2 main characters.

A nice little picture/illustration book to have especially if you are a fan of Eisaku’s art work, which I am. Definitely also check out his fantastic art book Rakugaki Note.
